ChIcKeN PoX

So all I have to say is "Are you freakin kidding me." Addison has Chicken Pox. She got them seriously one day before she was old enough to get the Vaccine.  Poor thing. She doesn't have a ton of spots now, but she rubs the ones that she has. I know they Itch really bad. She has had a string of bad luck the last few months.  In October we found out the she had MRSA. That's an antibiotic resistant strain of staph infection. Its extremely hard to get rid of and in lots of cases it ends up killing people.  Well after several rounds of different antibiotics it finally went away. And now she has chicken pox. I'll post some pictures of her with all her spots when I finally get around to taking one.

Take a step

Addison is starting to take steps. She doesn't get very far but I don't think it will be long before she is walking. Also, here is an old video of Addy but I thought it was funny. I also want to brag a little about my child. I think she is a genius! She can blow her nose, she had a little cold this week and my mom showed her how to blow her nose and she has done it ever since. All I have to do is ask her to blow and she does. And my favorite new thing she does... She can whistle, i'm serious, my 10 month old can whistle! I am so amazed, i'm 23 years old and I still can't whistle. She'll just be crawling around and whistling to herself. Its the cuest thing ever!

My Friends Tigger and Pooh...

Addison loves Winnie the Pooh and Tigger, I mean she's crazy about them. So my parents bought her some of the blow up things so she can look out the window at them in the winter time. Here is her first interaction with life size tigger and pooh.

Weird Fact #1:
When I was a kid I was afraid of pretty much everything, but I was completely terrified of restaurants. I was scared of them until I was about 12, I'm not kidding.  Every time my family would go to a restaurant I would have a full blow panic attack, lots of times I got so nervous I would throw up. Strange huh.  I apologize to Kathy who never really got to out to dinner for our Birthday because I never wanted to go. Sorry.

Weird Fact #2:
When I was in 9th grade I broke my collar bone and now I have an enormous protruding bump on my neck from where it broke and grew back together.  It's so gross, you can tell just by looking at it that something is not right.

Weird Fact #3:
I can't cook very well, and if you ask me to put together a ready to assemble book case it would fall apart, But I can fix a computer.  I can take it apart, replace a broken part and put all it back together.  I know how to replace a motherboard and image a computer.  I was a computer technician in the Information Systems Department at Davis School District. It may not seem cool or difficult to some people, but I'm pretty proud of myself.

Weird Fact #4:
I have never ridden Puff the Magic Dragon at Lagoon. This goes back to my period of being afraid of everything as a kid.  It scared me and thats all I have to say.

Weird Fact#5:
I can't eat Potato soup, I made it for dinner once while I was pregnant and the smell has turned me off to it. The smell made me so sick. I don't know if I will be able to touch the stuff ever again.

Weird Fact #6:
I had ginormous hair as a kid. I'm serious, I looked like had been electrocuted all the time.  It was so fuzzy and frizzy, it completely stuck out.  Some of you might remember how bad it was.  Thanks to all those girls who where my friend in spite of the fluff I called my hair, you know who you are.

Weird Fact #7:
I am completely ashamed to admit this and my husband will probably disown me cause he hates this about me.  I am totally addicted to "The Hills" on MTV. I don't know why but I love that show. Its so sad but I watch every episode.  I can't help myself.

I can do it all by myself!!

Addison has starting feeding herself. She doesn't really like anyone to feed her anymore. Also she tries to stand by herself. She'll hold on to you and then push your hands away. She still needs a little more practice, but she's getting pretty good. Its so funny when she's finishes standing, she gives you a hug and a kiss. She doesn't understand how to control her kisses, so pretty much it's an open mouth slobber fest. Here she is in action.

The good, the bad, and the everything else

So today was my last day as a working mommy. From now on I get to stay home and take care of Addison. I am so excited and sad all at the same time. I loved my job, the hours are perfect for a mom. I can't wait to start my new adventure.

Addison is sick again. She has a really bad cold. Also she gets really moody when she is sick. On top of that my my mom has been in the hospital all week. I'm not really sure why, the doctors kept changing their minds. But whatever it was they thought it was bad enough to keep in the hospital. Crazy.

Also I'm not sure if you all heard, but Stephenie Meyers draft of Midnight Sun was illegally posted to the Internet and now she has stopped the production of the book indefinitely. Now I'm not the kinda gal who dreams about Edward all day and wishes I were Bella, but I'm a big fan and would love to keep reading. So it really ruffles my feathers when someone she trusted with a copy of her book, would post it to the Internet. On behalf of all twilighters out there I say "Thanks a lot, you dweeb! Way to ruin it for the rest of us!"

Stephenie has taken it all with grace and posted a copy of the draft (which was unfinished by the way) LEGALLY on her website. We might never know what the finished product will be.

They grow up so fast

Addison is already nine months old. I just can't believe it. I swear every time I turn around she has gotten bigger. She's crawling all over the place and pulling herself up to things. She is starting to stand by herself but when she realizes that she is standing she panics and plops down on her bum. She's hysterical! Here are some funny photos I took of her the other day.

This picture is for Kathy. We had to paint the cabinets in out new apartment, they look a ton better.

I'm very proud of us

As of yesterday, TJ and I are completely 100% DEBT FREE. Our cars are paid off, our credit accounts are closed. I don't mean to brag, I'm just very proud of us. I can't tell you what a relief it is not to have to pay those bills anymore. And from now on we will function on a cash only basis. I know it will probably be hard, but if we put our minds to it we will be able to do it. Also I read this really cool book about taking control of your finances and getting out of debt. I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a way out. "The Total Money Makeover" by Dave Ramsey. I know it sounds kinda hokey but it truly has the information needed to get out of debt. I know that it has changed the way I spend (which in no way was thrifty). I'm so excited to start my cash only budget. Its kinda one of those common sense books but as I was reading I kept thinking why haven't I know this and I should have thought of that. I still have a little more to read but this book has changed my life. I just hope that I can keep it this way.

Driving Lessons

This is Addy in her Winnie the Pooh Car, She loves it. She is "talking" the entire time, so turn on the sound. She's so funny, she loves being pushed around the house.

Addy Crawling and playing

This video is for Addy's Aunt Kathy, who is very far away in Florida. Its the very first time I have tried to post a video and I kinda threw it together. Its kinda jumpy and my parents house is in the middle of a remodel so If it looks like Addy is crawling through a construction zone, she pretty much is.

Sell House..........Check

Well we finally sold our house this week. Its been a pretty exciting and scary process. I just really glad we had a great agent to help us (Thanks Flint). We close on the 21st of August, and until then will be painting our new apartment, aka my parent's basement. This is going to be great for us. I will finally be able to stay at home with Addison and TJ will now be able to start school at LDS Business College. We won't be there for long but saving a little on rent is going to be a huge help.

Well, it wasn't the chicken pox, I'm still not quite sure what is was but all of Addison's spots are gone.

Seeing Spots

My kid just can't catch a break. Addison has random spots all over her. I hope its not the Chicken Pox, but who knows. I didn't know until the other day that babies can still get the chicken pox even though the have been vaccinated. We are going to take her into the doctor, I'll let you know what we find out.

Life is good....for now

Well, last Thursday night Addison's fever finally broke and then she started to break out in a rash. It was gone after 24 hours, so it was Roseola. She also cut her first tooth while she was sick (poor thing). Because she has a tooth now she sticks her tongue out all the time. I think she's trying to feel it. She looks so funny-I'll have to post some pictures of it. Addison cracks me up, she started dancing. Turn on any music or just tell her to "dance, dance, dance" and she starts to bounce and wiggles her whole body. She has also figured out how to push herself out of your lap and slide down your legs, then once at the bottom claps and says "yeah", and wants everyone to do the same. As soon as she's had enough praise she holds her arms out to be picked up again and the process starts all over. What a geek. She is so close to being a "crawler" she'll go a few feet and then start rolling, I think cause she can roll faster.

Well Kathy and Andrew left this morning. Sad. I hope they get there without any trouble. I'm a little bit jealous, I think it would be so cool to move across the country and have to start all over.
Well that's all for now.

Poor Addy McKay

Its been a rough few days, Addy is sick again. Poor little thing she's pretty much been sick off and on since May. She had 2 ear infections and now has who knows what. I took her to the Dr. yesterday (she had a fever of 103.1) and he said that it was either Roseola or a Urinary Track Infection. And I have to take her back in today so they can put a catheter in to see if it is UTI. She has had a fever of at least 102.5 for three days now. I hope that they can figure out what wrong with her and she can get better, it's just so sad, she moans and whimpers all day long.

Which do you like?

So TJ and I are getting a new car. I'm torn between the Ford Edge and the Jeep Patriot. The Edge is a little more expensive but much roomier. The Patriot gets a little bit better gas mileage, but not much only a mile or two more per gallon. The Patriot is really small, we would have to get a new car again in a few years if we got it, but the way that gas prices are looking I just can't decide. What do you think?

Its Coming....

The annual Barber Family Barbie-Q is coming up,Get your barbies ready!

Every Year my family gets together and has a Barbie-Q, we take barbies and strap them to fireworks and light them off. It works best with the dollar Barbies from All a dollar. Its kinda strange but my family has made it into an art. We don't just light off barbies, every barbie has an occupation, such as Statue of Liberty Barbie with a sparkler crown and a torch made of flower fireworks. Or there was Astronaut Barbie who had a rocket pack, plus a devil and an angel. Sounds wierd but don't knock it till you've tried it.

Zoo Day!

Yesterday was the annual Granny Birthday Trip to the Zoo. We had so much fun. The weather was perfect, we got to see everything while it was sunny and warm. It started to get cloudy as we were leaving. I think it is really neat how Hogle Zoo is trying to update everything. There are lots of new exhibits and a new GIANT carousel. You can ride on any animal imaginable. We also got to see the White Alligator, I've seen it a few times before but it still creeps me out. Thanks Granny! Can't wait to go again next year

Happy Birthdays...

Today is Addison's Half Birthday! I can't believe how fast time has gone. She is already trying to pull herself up on her knees. Before I know I she will be crawling. She started saying "Da-da" yesterday. That pretty much all she mumbles now, "da-da-da-da-da-da-da". I was so excited I called TJ at work, he said she had been doing it on and off for the last day or so. He didn't want to tell me cause he thought it would hurt my feelings that she said "da-da" first. He's so funny sometimes. Poor little girl, she still has an ear infection, she just yanks on her ears. I know that they hurt, but she has been so good through it all.

Today is also my Grandma's Birthday. She would have been 83. It is so funny how things change. Happy Birthday Grandma B!

What a crazy life

Life never ceases to amaze me. One day everything can be going just the way you want it too and the next will be the complete opposite. We have been really busy the last week. Last Wednesday my Grandma passed away and in the middle of planning a funeral and taking care of her things Addy got sick. It was a pretty rough week. After a few days of feeling sorry for myself I decided I needed to start looking at my glass a little differently. My Grandmother is in a far better place, a place with no sorrow or heartache, and though it still stings I know that I will be able to see her again. It will be rough... when she's not at the 4th of July "Barbie-Q", or when I don't get a handpicked card for my birthday, especially not being able to go visit her and have her remind me to close the "Snake Door". I miss her but everything is just that way it supposed to be, and thats ok. We are also lucky that up until this point Addy has never been sick, and even with a double ear infection she still her happy little self (sometimes I wish I could be a happy and she is). I am truly blessed.

My very 1st Post

Well, this is my very 1st post. I guess the only interesting thing in my life right now is that we are selling our house. I'm completely bummed. It was really an investment and now its time to sell. Its the perfect location and the neighbors are great (I'm going to miss my friends). So if any of you are looking for a house, give me a call.
